The History
  • Sackatoga Stable was first conceptualized Memorial Day Weekend, 1995 in Sackets Harbor, NY when six high school buddies talked about putting in $5,000 each and taking a crack with thoroughbreds for fun.
  • Sackets Harbor is a town of 1,386 on the eastern shore of Lake Ontario, about an hour north of Syracuse.  It is best know for making warships for the American side in the War of 1812.
  • "Sackatoga" combines Sackets Harbor with Saratoga (Springs) where managing partner Jack Knowlton lives.
  • Sackatoga silks reflect the colors of the Sackets Harbor Central School Patriots.
  • Sackatoga Stable focused on owning New York breds and currently owns three New York breds.
  • Preferred mode of transportation: yellow school bus aka "big yellow stretch limo" stocked with Funny Cide Light and Bloody Marys.
