CAPITAL OTB PARTNERS WITH FUNNY CIDE OWNERS,
NEW YORK STATE LOTTERY DIVISION FOR HOLIDAY PROMOTIONS
Free Funny Cide Bobblehead Giveaway and
Free Holiday-Themed Instant Tickets
Schenectady,
December 2, 2003 Capital District Region Off-Track Betting
Corporation President Michael Connery today announced two new
December Holiday promotions that will take place at several
Capital OTB locations. Mr. Connery said that OTB is partnering
with Sackatoga Stable and the New York State Division of Lottery
on the promotions. The highlight of the promotional events is a
Funny Cide bobblehead giveaway on December 21st at the Albany
Teletheater, along with the Lottery giving away 200
Holiday-themed Lottery tickets.
A second promotion will take place in Madison County. It
includes a one-day guaranteed $2,500 handicapping
contest/promotion at Capitals Bridgeport OTB branch. The
promotion will highlight the fact that Bridgeport has a new
concessionaire; free food and beverages will be provided during
the promotion. The first 100 customers at the Bridgeport branch
will receive a free Funny Cide bobblehead figure and a free
Holiday-themed Lottery instant tickets.
Mr. Connery said, Its important during the slowdown in the
racing season to do things that will generate interest and
support for our simulcast racing product. Its imperative that
we continue to reach out to new fans and give something back to
our loyal patrons. Capital is proud to announce that we will
once again be working with Jack Knowlton and his partners from
Sackatoga Stable. And, for the first time, well be working with
the New York State Lottery on several promotions. Capital will
be the first New York State racing entity to offer Funny Cide
bobbleheads to our fans and Jack and others will be on hand to
autograph the giveaways and talk to fans.
Funny Cide reinvigorated the racing industry for the first time
in decades like no other horse could. The horse faced all comers
and shied away from no one. Capital OTB and its horse racing
fans have been front and center supporting this great
competitor. We look forward to his 4-year old campaign with
great anticipation and we thank Jack and his partners for their
support of Capital OTB this year and for years to come.
Jack Knowlton said, I want to thank Michael Connery and Capital
OTB for partnering with us on this terrific promotion. The
promotion on the 21st will give us another chance to thank
Capital Region fans for their support throughout the year. We
look forward to another great promotion at the Albany
Teletheater and welcome all Capital Region fans to come by to
participate in the promotion.
